Jaguar X-Type 2001 – 09 Child Safety, Parts & Repair Review
Jaguar X-Type
broke new ground with its 2002 iteration. Compact in size and featuring all-wheel drive. The X-Type set itself apart from most of its competitors. Riding in the X-type offers a comfortable ride, while occasionally slow to transfer power.
Featuring a basic steel structure, this regular family sedan is a like most small luxury cars. Comfortable for up to four passengers, yet crowded for five, it does have tighter headroom. Its interior combines traditional Jaguar elements, with more upholstery and a combination of Ford inspiration.
To see its durability, Euro NCAP ran a frontal Offset Crash test on the Jaguar X-Type and it received a 4-STAR rating based on its performance and protection in high-speed front and side crash tests.

Child Safety
When riding the Jaguar X-Type, children less than 18 month of age should be facing the rear. After that age, it is advised that children be forward-facing. This is to avoid the impact on the chest. Protection for children is good.

Safety is concerning. In all collision types, the Jaguar provides just enough protection to protect from injury. However, risk is imminent if anything goes wrong. Pedestrian protection is dire and whiplash protection is weak. Despite this, through rigorous testing, safety in the X-Type received a 4-star rating for crashworthiness and safety.
