To test its durability, Euro NCAP ran a frontal Offset Crash test on the Honda Accord and it received a 5-star rating based on its performance and protection in high-speed front and side crash tests.

Child Safety

When riding the Honda Accord, children less than 18 month of age should be facing the rear. After that age, it is advised that children be forward-facing. This is to avoid the impact on the chest.

Safety may be of concern. In a frontal impact collision, the driver only has adequate lower limbs while the passengers are left with adequate protection in their left lower-limbs and chest. The Accord provides weak protection for the chest and abdomen when in a side impact collision. (especially ones that involve a pole)

Pedestrian protection is somewhat poor around the glass and there is poor protection in scenarios involving a whiplash. Despite this, through rigorous testing, safety in the Accord received a 5-star rating for crashworthiness and safety.
